  • Jennie, LVT

I have been working at St. Johns Animal Clinic as a Licensed Veterinary Technician (L.V.T) since 2001.

I have an Associate Degree in Accounting from LCC, and a Bachelor of Science with my Major in Veterinary Technology from Michigan State University.
I love hunting, reading, and going to the movies.  I grew up in Ovid, Michigan and have been living in Westphalia for the last 5 years.

My husband, Marty, is a computer guru.  We have been married for 15 years.  Our son, Jensen (or Bubba) is 8 years old now and has a mild obsession with cars (the movie and small toys), dinosaurs, and Toy Story.  Our second son, Avery, was born in September of 2010.

Mokey is also 10 years old.  She is a nervous kitty so she hides during the day and patrols at night when the world is a little less scary to her.

Daisy is our crazy yellow lab who loves to wrestle with Jensen and is a pillow to Avery.

I have recently been introduced to the Wii fit (an awesome workout!) and love it.

I love working here.  There’s never anything too gross for me-I see it in terms of mildly fascinating to very fascinating.

  • Kristen, Assistant

Prior to coming to work for SJAC, Kristen was in the USAF and traveled quite a bit before coming to Michigan to settle down with her husband and two children.

Kristen started to work for SJAC as a Veterinary Assistant back in 2003. She was with our clinic for 8 ½ years before leaving for a unique military job opportunity once again overseas.  The SJAC staff graciously said their goodbyes in June of 2012 and wished her well on her grand adventures.

Since then for the past three years, Kristen and her family have been “gypsies” and moving from overseas to California and then to Washington.  Finally, Kristen and her husband decided to bring their family back home to Michigan to be closer to grandparents and friends.

SJAC welcomed Kristen back with open arms and are very happy to have her apart of their family once again.

For now Kristen is settled and content with the SJAC family and looks forward to another great 8 years.

P.S. Kristen and her husband can't wait until their children graduate (in 10-12 years), so they can set off again on their next adventure.

  • Olivia, Kennel Staff

I started working at St. Johns Animal Clinic in October 2012.  I am currently attending Lansing Community College as a biology major and will eventually move on to Michigan State for Veterinary Technology.

I grew up in St. Johns with my parents, two sisters, and my brother.  Living out in the country, we have seen many pets come and go.  I adore my animals so much I decided to pursue a career dedicated to them.

In addition to the clinic, I also work at PetSmart in Okemos (where I get to play with newly adopted puppies on a daily basis!).  When I’m not busy working or studying, I enjoy camping, vacations with my family and friends, spoiling my dog, binge-watching Netflix, and every spring/summer, since 2011, I breed my golden and raise her playful, fluffy pups.

My family is always accumulating new pets, right now we share the house with my super shy Golden Retriever, Lilly, a high-energy German Shepherd mix, Sachi, my rat, Missy, my big, stubborn goat, Maggie, my brother’s gecko, Rico, our two cats, Snickers and Halo, and a couple of small fish tanks.

I’ve learned so much from everyone in such a short amount of time.  I love my job and all the people and animals I get the pleasure of working with.

  • Sarah, LVT

Sarah graduated from MSU Veterinary Technology program in 2015. While in the program, she served as class president and tried to get as involved in as many activities as the college would provide. She was especially interested in behavior and anesthesia during school. Her previous degree includes a BS in Zoology, which she finished in 2013 at MSU.

Sarah lives in Lansing with her husband, Anthony, who teaches Chemistry at Grand Ledge High school. They have two cats, Prim (who thinks she's a dog) and Autumn (an old kitty who just wants to lay in the sun). Sarah and Anthony have a pointer mix named Penny who they adopted from Cherry Hill Humane Society. Sarah got off the plane after their honeymoon, turned to Anthony and said "I want a dog." A few hours later, they were driving home with Penny in the back seat.

Sarah's hobbies include watching movies, knitting/crocheting, ammature photography, yoga and watching MSU football. In the summer, you will mostly find Sarah outside enjoying nature and camping. Sarah has been riding horses for over 10 years and has started training in hunter/jumper in the hopes of entering the competitive circuit very soon.

Sarah is very thankful that St. Johns Animal Clinic provided her with her first job in a career that she loves!
